Page analytics

I use GoatCounter on my own server at stats.jlcd.de to see which pages are read, how pageview totals change over time, and which websites bring people here. The statistics dashboard is private.

The tracker sends the page path without query parameters or fragments. For an external referral, it sends only the referring website's origin, not the full address. Reloads count as another pageview.

This analytics setup uses no tracking cookies or visitor sessions. Device and location statistics and individual pageview history are disabled. Your browser still sends the network information needed to make a request; diagnostic records for suspected bots may include a browser user agent and are kept for up to 30 days.

Aggregated statistics are kept for 365 days. Daily backups are kept for another 14 days before they are deleted. These notes describe page analytics, not every service used by this website.
